About DCG

Why about DCG?

Because I know it is hard to believe someone who claims to know anything about a subject without knowing at least a bit of that person. In the hope to get my readers' trust, I am going to talk about me, and explain why I created DCG.

Rejean Paquet, DCG Author

Starting year 1969, in the great Canadian country, in its coolest city from Quebec called Montreal, Something extraordinary happened.

The greatest mind of all time who will save the world of their desktop computer problems saw the day for the first time, and his name is Rejean Paquet.

If I do not throw myself some flowers who would do? Ha ha.

As you can imagine, I have a great sense of humor, and this never stopped since my birthday. Even when I was 1 minute old, my mom smiled at me. I guess I was looking funny.

Born from a poor family, I learned to live with what I had and nothing more. I was playing with paper sheets making boats and airplanes all day long. My mom taught me the importance to be honest, humble and respectful. I cannot thank her enough for that; it helps me greatly in my life.

One day, I discovered a youth center called "maison des jeunnes". A place where kids under 18 years old can go to meet others and participate in activities of all kinds. This place was going to change my life for ever.

It is in that place that I saw a computer for the first time. My heart was pumping so hard, that I completely fallen in love. It took me little time to master the programming language of those very old VIC 20 computers.

From there I never stopped growing in the computer world.

Oddly, I never worked in the computer world except for fixing computers of friends and family members. My love for computers never pushed me to do a career in that domain. Everyone, in my family and around, were telling me the same thing over and over, "what the hell are you waiting for to do something about your computer knowledge, you could make good money working in that domain".

After some years of harassment, I finely decided to act. I tried to start a little business of my own, providing home services to fix, repair and enhance clients computers in the heat of their home for a low price. Having no experiences in business making, it did not take me long to see my error. No one were knowing me except my friends and my family. The trust was not there.

Being honest and having low prices is not enough to attract clients. They need to know you somehow and have something to digest, so they can see if you are capable and more importantly, see if you are trust able. After thinking about it for a while I realized that I could give references freely based on my knowledge to gain that trust.

That is how the idea of creating DCG came up.

By creating a complete free reference about desktop computer, I am hoping to gain my readers' trust, then maybe I will be able to start my little business one day.

Besides my computer addiction, there are other things I like as:

Going to theater with friends, play games with high strategy and tactic demanding like: chess, the game of go and some board games, visiting friends for a good talk session with a beer in my hand, recently start playing tennis, play poker online and what I love the most, making my mom laugh out loud.
